HEA1 – Visual comfort – max 6 credits AIM - To encourage best practice in visual performance and comfort by ensuring daylighting, artificial lighting and occupant controls are considered
Assessment criteria:
Disabling glare through building layout and/or design:
- Provision of shading systems with possibility to control
Shading control for all ‘relevan t building areas’:
- Areas where lighting and resultant glare could be problematic for users
- Workstations, projector screens,..
Internal lighting is zoned to allow for occupant control
ABB Smart Buildings Solutions
(*) Applicable for switchable applications (not purely monitoring or other). All Metering products (except CMS and Ev meters) have digital outputs that can act for controlling an on/off switch. Control can be carried out by timers (AG timers, DBT timers) and by twilight switches (TL line). Dimming is not possible.
(**) FusionAir Room Sensor gives a UI for lighting control, Cylon Series controller strategies can include lighting management scheduling
(***) Millenium Dimmer are manually-operated devices and do not consider external factors.
HEA2 – Indoor air quality – max 4 credits AIM - To recognize & encourage healthy internal environment through the specification & installation of appropriate ventilation, equipment and finishes
Assesment criteria
Ventilation
- National bestpractice standard for ventilation
- Sufficient distance between air intake & exhaust
- CO2 or air quality sensors
Natural ventilation strategy
ABB Smart Buildings Solutions
(*) Control of thermal comfort, indoor air quality, energy efficiency
(**) Controllers, associated strategies and associated FusionAir sensors are designed to include ventilation / IAQ control
(***) Millenium KNX thermostats: Controls ventilation through HVAC
(****)Fan Coil Controller, Blower Actuator and HVAC Controllers idem
HEA4 – Thermal Comfort – max 3 credits AIM - To ensure the building is capable of providing an appropriate level of thermal comfort.
Assessment criteria:
- Thermal zoning and controls
- Zones within the building and how the building services could efficiently and appropriately heat or cool these areas
- Occupant control required for these zones
ABB Smart Buildings Solutions
(*) Thermostats, HACV controllers and similar devices can regulate temperature per room
(**) Millenium KNX thermostats control ventilation of HVAC system.
