ABB & BREEAM UK New Construction 2018

What is BREEAM UK & Categories

BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) is considered the world's leading method for assessing sustainability in the construction sector. The system assesses the environmental, social and economic sustainability performance of buildings, communities and infrastructure projects.

As an internationally recognized mark of quality, the certification provides guidelines for companies seeking to reduce their environmental impact when refurbishing existing buildings or constructing new ones. To obtain a BREEAM UK certificate for a building, independent assessors review the extent to which a building meets regulatory standards and evaluate how the building compares to market performance. The assessment results in the building receiving a classification ranging from 'Pass' to 'Outstanding’.
